&#160;

This site is amazingly good for learning HTML.

Excellent tutorial.

&#160;

Notepad =&#62; index.htm

&#160;

Then open it in IE by browsing to it.

&#160;

Note: can see SOURCE code of any page by VIEW&#62;Source in IE.

------------------------

&#160;

page 2: opening and closing tags (to create nested programs ... just like LISP);

&#160;

Note: what's enclosed in tags goes into the title bar of the page at the very top.

-----------------------------------

HTML Tutorial

Nov 1990: WWWC formed and they set stds for HTML.

&#160;

An ELEMENT is a complete code segment eg

&#160;

Four elements to every web page: the html tags; the &#160;<b>&#160;HEAD</b> (where the &#160;<b>&#160;title</b> and all the metatags go and the CSS defs and Script defs etc;

and the body.

&#160;

is line break ... does not need opening tag.

&#160;

-- this is for a comment.

------------------------------------------

Elements are modified by attributes (eg CLASS or ID are types of attributes)

eg can modify the p = paragraph tag by specifying id="italicsparagraph"

&#160;

Look at the TITLE ATTRIBUTE. note; all it takes is</p>

<h2 title="Hello There!">Titled Heading Tag</h2>

<p class="default">incredibly simple!!!

&#160;

----------------------------------

&#160;

&#160;
