excellent video:  RON RENSINK is an expert with change blindness.

vision is extremely volatile...  model is built and disappears in msecs. (that is iconic memory perhaps 250 ms)

change blindness...

just in time models... constanly being constructed on the fly and then disappearing;

Q how much info can be taken in one view....  millions of bytes  in one scene
but they don't last very long....  create a brief memory that helps to guide saccades and thinking...

attention needs to knit together things in space and over time.

must attend the to the same thing in order to SEE the change (as in change blindness)
depends on motion detectors (around 100 msecs) ... creates motion at changed objects and
then causes attention to shift to that spot.

Q is iconic memory like a photo?

Q  what coritcal areas are involved in change blindness?

must have areas involved in attention  (V1 is the dense photo that disappears)
but must have  parietal areas  that are involved in attention.  !!!

what's the capacity of your visual attention?
3-4 things   but q is ... what's a THING...
getting a sense for the encoding of objects/ things
