Summary of talk:

Predation takes oxygen; could not have macropredators without it;

he correlates incr oxgen with changes in iron content in strata that he studies in Yukon.

It also correlates with fauna.

Size and complexity of fauna also correlates with what is now found in modern oceans

in OMZs = oxygen minimum zones as an analogue to ancient low O2 oceans.

also looks at LCA = last comon ancestor from molec clock studies that he does:

LCA of humans and fruit flies = 670 Mya. (that is LCA of all bilaterians)
