See Kaiser Drug bull Nov/DEc 2005:
 
 <b>pedi < 40 kg 250 mg BID for ten days</b>
 <b>for > 40kg give 500 mg BID. (adults)</b>
 
alternative rx: amoxil 45mg/kg bid for ten days
for pen allergy give azithro or Keflex or clinda
 
Adults 500 BID for 10 days OR
if pen allergic erythro estolate 400 bid or clinda 300 BID or cefpodoxime 100 bid
 
Acute bronchitis lasts for 2-3 weeks and is casued by a virus 90% of the time.
Do not treat with antibx. In <10% of the time, cause is mycoplasma or chlamydia pneumoniae or bordetella.
