IrfanView

Apr 21, 2016 05:56 PM 32 bit versus 64 bit Irafan... USE the 32 bit version... I do NOT need the 64 bit.

Where is it installed? EASY!!! it's installed in C:\Program Files(x86)\IrfanView\i_view32

Apr 08, 2016 04:32 PM (one minute ad at beginning, so look at these notes...

do not SUFFER thru that damn ad!!!

this is an ESSENTIAL download for everyone.

(especially for the tds at MSFT... here's how to do it! and this is the work of one guy)

This is on RESIZE and CROP....

he goes to I for IrfanView Image properties...totally cool!!!

that gives you ALL the specs on your FILE... file name... full path

resolution , size... look at it!!!!

then

EDIT > create custom crop (shift C)>

he leaves the actual ratio alone

he changes image DPI from 72 to 240...

and he selects a standard dimension (pick any)

Note: my current version of Irfan had drop down in the R column called New size...

(rather than the "some standard dimensions" list in this video.

he seems to pick the last (most deetailed size with a width of 1600 pixels... and

then click APPLY....

now you want to RESIZE the CROP BOX.....

so... press control and pull out a corner with with the L mouse and pull it down. or pull the R edge to the R

(alternately to pull our the R side of the box....

can click with R mouse to drag the the selection box.....

then to SELECT IT; go to EDIT > Crop selection... or hit <<< control Y.....

he then goes back to I (info) to see how big it is...

look at Print size (from DPI)... it will say something like 14 by 14 inches... way too big.

So, to RESIZE IT.....

Go to IMAGE > Resize>....

then SET NEW SIZE...in inches...

and select INCHES eg 4 inches wide (height auto adjusts)

and just S = SAVE AS

RETOUCH BLEMISH.....

zoom in to face by pressing SHIFT and + keys....

and then EDIT > show paint dialog.......

then click on the CLONE STAMP... (looks like a rubber stamp in the R column of the menu)

cursor turns into a circle with a diagonal slash....

then press control click on good patch of skin and then paint over the blemish with that.

CHANGING BRIGHTNESS of the photo...

I see that his 'ENHANCE COLORS is now called IMAGE> COLOR CORRECTIONS in my version.

(I cannot improve bob-linda-pirate-king.... but Image> auto adjust colors does seem to work.
