Robin Hanson 2012 Singularity
<p>from some source I heard that Robin Hanson's main concept was that
robots that were very fast and efficient  would be more valuable than ones that merely simulated
humans  (yes to that... they've got to compete with cheap humans... human labor is cheap...
hard to make a robot that competes on a cost basis.)

fine spatial and chem resolution... scanning...
how inputs get translated to outputs...
get same I/O as the brain...
what would the world be like if there were  whole brain emultion...
ECONOMICS  of it
what would the world actually be like...
take the uploaded person as a big opaque black box... early era...  take  or leave it....
(that is... cannot modify it... can combine it)
 
supply and demand
robots... substit for people   copy info...
immortal... in principle
send it over the internet...
robots  do not die without nature...
can be copied easily...
train one and make millions of copies...
economy could double fast...
why bother to pay for people...
so wages  collapse...
humans are marginal....
can't survive  on wages...
but humans hold property, accounts....
humans could hope to become like retirees  (we don't kill them off and take their stuff)
cuz that's part of the fabric of society.

difft physical bodies...
may run sims at much faster... run it a million times faster...
top guy  incorporates top 21 guys... fewer meetings...he meets with himself...
human speed  dictated by mvmt of bodies...
shrink people...  bodies move faster...
managing a super tanker... slow mind
product cycles...  instantaneous....
Expensive to travel   send signals to where the brains are.
expensive to travel in inner cities...  lim by speed of light...
v fast in the middle... lim by light speed... locate in premium real esate...
Varieties of life...
1000X slower retirement...
teams of friends...
50B  =  0.02% of world weath...
most people would come from 300 humans  (the top people)
most wealth wud own 3% of everything....
where does Em get resources....
undermine investment in your training...
stealing YOU and torturing it or using to outcompete you...
work hard in aline invest
