Magnetics on Mars ... no dynamic  magnetic field  (it does have crustal mag fields)
but nothing from core.
 
solar plasma  interacts with magnetic field of mars.
 
crustal fields  were just discovered in 1997.  outer  40-100 kms note from core.
v strong field  (10-20X  size of simlar fields on earth).
crustal fields are remnants of core mag field that shut off 4.1 B yrs ago.</p>
