FAQ

Is this an official resource for TheBrain?

Nope. This WebBrain is created by a user for users. If you want something to be seen by TheBrain folks, see the Where should I go to report issues and request new features? question below.

Where should I go to report issues and request new features?

Go to the TheBrain forum to report issues, or e-mail support-at-thebrain.com (replace -at- with @). You can request new features there also, or go to the UserVoice forum.

There's also another Google Group called PersonalBrain Starters.

Does TheBrain have an official blog?

Yup, you can find it at http://blog.thebrain.com/

Why Create this WebBrain?

Creating a brain and linking thoughts is easy. However, utilizing it to it's full potential is a lot harder. There's a lot of complexity under the hood, and a lot of good information people have provided over the official forum over the years has gotten lost under new posts. I'm hoping to capture some of it here so it's easy to find and at your fingertips.

How do people use TheBrain?

The most common use is as a knowledge base, or personal information management (PIM). Since you can store thousands of thoughts (some people have 50,000+), it scales as much as you need it to. Given the speed you can find stuff (using instant search), or find the contents of files (core and pro) extended and advanced searches, it allows you to find the information you need quickly. You can also link thoughts to other thoughts however you like, so you view your information in context.
People also use PB for brainstorming, GTD, presentations, bookmark managers, and I'm sure there's more.
