But this QFS is about money and my future and my social security; it should be more like the American Express Bluebird site which is much less intimidating. Plus how could I possibly help my neighbors with questions if I don’t understand it myself? Forgive me if this sounds like a rant; I just want to do it correctly. Know what I mean, Vern? Anyway, I hope you can help me with this.

Then I had some time to think about it and sent him another email:
When I create mindmaps, I must always consider my audience. For instance when making one for the elderly, I want the printing to be large and clear and any movement between screens should be slow so their eyes can follow where each screen came from if they want to go back. If there is a video involved, same thing with the text and a narrator in a clear slow voice (like Judy Byington (sp?) on Situation Update/Gene Decode/Rumble. I specifically gather her videos to one day present the truth to my elderly neighbors. She is understandable and speaks clearly at a good pace.
I also have to remember to slow myself down when I am creating a mindmap for others. I must always Keep It Simple Stupid (KISS) because others will be viewing my mindmaps for the first time and will have no idea which keys to hit or which buttons to push.
It occurred to me that on the back side of the program, it should be asking the user what it wants to do. ie) a) set up your account, b) make a deposit, c) have your social security funds directly deposited to your QFS account, d) make a cash withdrawal, e) transfer funds to your QFS Credit card etc. etc. Then behind the scenes the program will continue to ask questions for each step so the user is ACTUALLY doing what they want to do.
For example: I would like to have my QFS account like a "savings" account, and my QFS American Express credit card account be where my SS fund are deposited, but the two are linked so that I can move funds back and forth however I need them. I keep a bare minimum ($100) in my AMEX on a routine basis, everything else I move to a separate balance hidey hole titled "Good Stuff" which I use like a savings account. I keep my account locked so no automatic deposits can be taken from my $100 balance without me moving the funds over there from my hidely hole. I pay bills (internet, phone, dog food, audible) online and usually do not sign up for automatic deposit because it screws up my system.
My account is always locked unless I am going to the cash machine which is what I use my card for. I pay for everything in cash usually except food I have been using my SNAP card which only gives me $20/month anyway. In other words, I can easily to everything I need to with one or two screens and minimal clicking. QFS SHOULD be as easy as the American Express Bluebird site. (And I can load cash into my account for free at Family Dollar.)
I hope I explained that well enough for you to follow, I have no idea what skill level you are with technology. I will always use, in my creative work, including my art, the simple approach. Many Regards, Sophia78iam@proton.me
When I use my computer to do banking, I definitely do not want to be bombarded with a bunch of popup windows. I want all my choices to be right in front of me and I want a go back option. It MUST be simple. What’s up there now would be fine for “gamers” but what I saw was a nightmare.
With my AMEX Bluebird card, I sign in, I can see my balance, my stash, and all my transactions all on one screen. Then with a few clicks, I can move my money around from my daily balance (which I keep low on purpose because the stash doesn’t show up when I ask for a balance receipt) to my stash. My stash is where I keep most of my social security money; I can always see it on the first screen I come to.
Not everyone has the same tech skills, what about the people who still get their SS by check; this is going to flip them out big time. Just like going to the grocery store, you see all your options and you pick what you want. How do I know what my options are if they aren’t all in front of me. And those options should have mini instructions like “if you choose this you can do this” or “if you want to withdraw some cash do this” and a new user is not going to remember all these options. There did not seem to be a “written guide” which I have access to for my mindmapping software.
I can catch on fast to new programs but that is just me and I can only teach what I know in my style.
So my style says QFS for seniors and non-techies needs to be simplified, and stop using initials for everything….that’s a shortcut for the writer and totally unnecessary. These terms need to be repeated in full constantly for years until people “get it.”
I’m trying to get my QFS done before my stash disappears, I have been pulling cash out every time I get my direct deposit so I only leave enough in to cover monthly bills. And again I say how do I make my SS go into the QFS or AMEX card? AND I have been buying food with my SNAP card that I squirreled away that still has nearly $800 on it. When and where is that going to disappear to? Who is considering the audience/end user on this QFS? And get rid of the colors, they’re distracting. White background with black type, just like what you are reading NOW. Most people know that something underlined and blue is a link. And most people can recognize that if something is grayed out that it is not an option. (KISS).
There, that’s it for QFS for now. I just had to get this off my chest so I can concentrate on my Situation Update 8/10/2023. I like Judy, she makes videos that my elderly neighbors will understand.
I have a few more rants coming but you will have to wait til I’m done with my vids.
9:40pm: I have a soft spot for Jeff in #109 ever since his dog died about a year ago. I felt so bad for him that I offered to take him to the humane society and buy him another one. Eventually I did help him pick one out but he paid for it. He takes very, very good care of her and the dog is a really sweetie. I know very little about him but seems so helpless and lost most of the time. I encourage him, offer him hope and was very upset when he told me that Ms. X had turned him on to an insurance broker that signed him up for a medical plan that is coming out of his social security (and he tells me his checks are not much). I write all this, knowing that not all will be chosen, but if he is, I would like permission to help him to continue getting his social security. I won’t do it unless you give me permission but I pray it will all work out well for him. On the other hand, I am quite the “softie” so I could be all wrong about him, only you all can help me out on this one. I don’t have a case history on him like a therapist would.
Okay here comes the next rant: Like I mentioned earlier, I went to a new to me car mechanic to get my A/C fixed and gas gauge looked at. I really enjoyed the husband/wife team. Rhonda is a lot like me and we had a wonderful, long chat after my appt was complete. She told me that they took a road trip up to Manitowoc, WI and took a ferry straight across Lake Michigan. The ferry they took is the last ferry in the world to use whatever kind of fuel it uses because every other ferry now runs on some other kind of fuel. The reason I specify the ferry is because of what she told me could fit inside of it: semi trucks, lots of them. Don’t you think that would be like candy to a “trafficker.”
Anyway, just wanted to tell you that, it’s not part of the rant. Mike, Rhonda’s husband, was very willing to allow me to take an active part what needs to be done with my vehicle. I have to go back on monday so he can look for any leaks.
So here’s the rant: The Jones Motor Repair is on HWY 51 in a spot that is 45mph heading into Portage. While I was waiting on my car, I went outside and watched the vehicles SPEED by, and yest I got mad.
I asked a couple people if the cars always went that fast and a guy told me that it used to be 55 and most people STILL do it. Then he told me (in a mocking tone) that “some woman in Madison” got some road that I don’t remember the name, she got the speed limit changed/lowered and it was causing accidents and people were getting tickets. I said, “Good” but he kept talking and told me how he and his brother still do 55mph where it says 45mph. I asked him what number should it be if you were to take the perspective of SAFETY and he said, “55” and drove off. From where we were standing to where 35mph starts is not even a mile, then as you get to downtown it drops to 25 and pretty much stays that til you’re nearly out of town.
Now I travel the back roads frequently because I enjoy it and detest the freeways and I can truthfully say that many little towns put up signs just outside of town that drop the speed to 25mph until you are well out of town. That’s the way it should be throughout the state but especially HWY 51. Going slower allows you to look around and see the beauty, it’s safer to stop for wildlife crossing the road and the drunken city folk can’t go speeding through with their lights off.
Another thing that would piss of semis and speeders is to put in four way stops wherever two perpendicular roads meet HWY 51. There are residential areas along 51, how long does a person have to wait for traffic just to get out of their driveway? It would be less troublesome if people going by were only doing 25mph. Between Poynette and Portage, I drive several times a week. Hwy 51 from the time you see the Poynette sign til the time you leave town should be 25mph and a 4 way stop by the school. Then as you head to portage, it should be 45mph with a round about and 4 way stops so people can cross the highway without getting killed. I’ve been watching, if it’s posted 55 they go 65, and don’t forget passing in a no passing zone. Who’s issuing these driver’s licenses? These passers are usually in a late model pick, you know, the ones who can never afford the upkeep on that shiny new truck!
Then, when drivers hit Hwy 16 and go straight across the railroad tracks, that’s where 25mph should start; those trucks will have a fit!!!! Drivers would be able to actually notice the businesses on either side; a new cafe next to my new mechanic is opening soon-people could stop for “American” food (I talked with the owner while I was waiting for my vehicle). Then 25mph is consistent all through town in all directions. It’s always semis that clog up hwy 33 (the main street) in Portage. The roads in town are not the greatest but Portage did a really nice upgrade to a long stretch of 51.
So there that’s my second rant; been holding that in since noon.
11:20pm: Recommendations on the best current computer system would be appreciated. I have an Iphone but I have only had Dell computers and I use a wired mouse and prefer a keyboard that feels like a typewriter (I can’t type on a laptop because the keys are too flat – I learned to type on a manual typewriter). I have wondered about a MAC but I’m not sure. The sooner you get me recommendations, the sooner I can plan for it financially. Keep in mind that I will need to put money aside for several repairs that will be necessary on my vehicle before I drive to my class in Florida in December.

I was just remembering that my mother left me all her jewelry when she died; it’s the only thing I asked for. My brother’s daughter, Samantha, took my Athena ring from when my mother was in the Army, before I got into town. Then she had the nerve to tell me she took it because all she got was a crummy dresser (which my mother loved). She is a snotty brat; and I want my ring back. She had no right to it because it was in my mother’s will that all jewelry goes to me. 9:18pm: Recorded movie: The Punisher (1989) while the brainzip is uploading to the Restored Republic V13. It’s working beautifully and I don’t believe it will be much of a problem working it in to the topics that I created while I was waiting for the brainzip to be created. So now I am going to record the John Travolta version of the Punisher (another remake, no creativity left in pedowood).
Had another idea for the stretch of HWY 51 that runs between Poynette and Portage, which is definitely going to need an upgrade soon. Instead of putting up the red 4 way stop signs at all the perpendicular roads, put in round abouts; why should the county residents have to wait for the speeding semis (caught one going 60 in a 45 today) to pass by? That will really divert the idiot drivers!
Re “The Love Barn” I promise I am not trying to be greedy but can my farmhouse and the LB be surrounded by 888 acres of protected forestry (like with the trees I mention in the LB mindmap? The other thing is I would really like to be located near Portage and/or Poynette. I am making some really good friends and I would like to continue building those relationships. Besides, it’s beautiful around here, this is GOD’s country!
Talked with young Ben at the Piggly Wiggly today. I asked him when school starts and he said Sept first. He said he is not looking forward to it because it is not challenging for him. I encouraged him to speak with his parents and tell them exactly what kind of school he would like to attend. I told him that if there is something he wants in life that nobody is going to just give it to him, he has to go for it on his own. (Kind of like me getting a letter from social security asking me if there was a breach to my account. Which I will do tomorrow morning. I am going to tell them about how I already reported my landlord for HIPPA violations, how my sister is a banker who does credit checks on her family, how my brother Steven is harboring a thief, his daughter Samantha, and that Steven knows Karen has all of our social security numbers. I’m also going to tell them that Karen had her son, Kevin, do a police background check on me. I used to change that little shit’s diapers. He told me he did it when he recited to my face all my whereabouts and the fact that I was “unemployed with no visible means of support” which is why I had to stay with my dad in the first place. Karen finally got Dad to sell the house and I lived in my car for eight months until I moved into Pioneer Place. Karen used to go into my room and take things; she stole hundreds of dollars of my art supplies which I didn’t find out about til I unpacked my things at Pionee Place. She is a nasty witch and my brother Steven and his wife and kids are just like her. Sad. Sad. Sad.

Decided not to print or send the letter I wrote to Meridian’s Regional Manager. It doesn’t seem to be worth my efforts; the letter was outstanding though, I must say! All facts and truth that nobody seems to want to hear.
