Personal Issues:

This was a very complex transition because our family had to move back from Ann Arbor, Michigan, after my wife completed two years of medical school at the University of Michigan, we wanted find a place to live in the Bloomfield Birmingham area with two daughters that would have good schooling to finish out their middle school and high school years. My wife's 2-year rotation started at Henry Ford Health Systems on Grand Blvd in Detroit in the fall of 1980. After two years she would then start her three-year residency. That was one problem that we had to solve up with in the spring and summer of 1980.
