“Humble paper clip”

“Humble paper clip”

Let me share a few moments in the life of a mind map gardener with you(https://app.thebrain.com/brain/58d4b5ca-52ef-4b87-9056-9f7d970bd2b3/b4fee220-a411-4b49-9ad2-42075f2b4df8):

• While
  • I was looking for an icon to symbolize the thought “Technology”, I thought: “Hey, this paper clip would fit very well!”
  • describing technology, this came to mind: “Maybe I should call it the ‘humble paper clip’, because our tools today seem so much more advanced...”
• Questions came up like
  • What would Google return on “humble paper clip”?
  • Is there something like a “digital paper clip”?
• I discovered lots of information new to me:
  • “It was in the autumn of 1940 when students at Oslo University started wearing paperclips on their lapels as a non-violent symbol of resistance, unity, and national pride.” - Paper Clip as Symbol @ Todayifoundout.com
  • “... I’m a human not a digital paperclip ... “ - Digital paper clip @ lanetaneta.com
  • the paper clip apocolypse? - AI and the paper clip problem
  • ...
• A few hours later after some interesting reading sessions....
  • “I’ll have to focus on the purpose of this website ... and keep my priorities straight!”
  • “BUT just maybe at a later stage the paper clip will become a more crucial thought?!”
• You’re invited to see how this “Garden of Thoughts” grows over time :)
