Pentecostals

Gemini Summary

Pentecostals are a group of Christians who focus on the Holy Spirit, speaking in tongues, and emotional worship. The movement started in the early 1900s and is now one of the fastest-growing religious groups in the world. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Key Beliefs

The Holy Spirit: They believe the Holy Spirit works actively in people today just as He did in the Bible.

Second Blessing: After a person accepts Jesus, they look for a second event called the "baptism in the Holy Spirit".

Spiritual Gifts: They believe gifts like healing, prophecy, and speaking in tongues come from God and are meant to be used today. [4, 5, 6, 7]

Worship and Practices

Lively Services: Church meetings are often loud, joyful, and filled with music, clapping, and raised hands.

Water Baptism: People are fully dipped under water in the name of Jesus after they are old enough to choose to believe.

The Bible: They view the Bible as the true and exact word of God. [1, 4, 8, 9, 10]
