lead a turn onto a DME arc by ~1% (in NM) of groundspeed

Turn 10, Twist 10 (turn 10 degrees, add/subtract 10 degrees) and update along the DME path

For each half mile you are away from your desired arc, it is recommended that you change the relative bearing by 10° to 20° toward the arc.
