John Wiest

John Wiest is a Director with The Chartis Group’s Performance practice. He has over 35 years of experience leading and advising healthcare systems. He is a recognized expert in performance improvement, partnering with clients to realize long-term sustainable growth, process efficiencies, and overall financial and operational excellence.

John’s recent work includes directing large, complex projects in the following areas: financial turnaround and enterprise margin enhancement, business development, sustainable revenue enhancement, cost reduction, and service line planning and execution. He combines his deep expertise in operational and financial performance improvement and change leadership to provide solutions for clients that address their unique circumstances while optimizing resources.

John has presented and written extensively on organizational transformation and staffing optimization. He has frequently spoken at HFMA and ACHE events and is a guest lecturer at Florida Gulf Coast University.

Before joining Chartis, John served as the Performance Excellence business unit leader for Navigant(now part of Guidehouse), a leading healthcare consulting firm. Previously, he served as Managing Director and Southeast Market Leader in

PwC’s Healthcare Mergers and Acquisitions practice. Before beginning his advising career, John served over 25 years in numerous health system executive leadership roles.
