Scott is a partner in the Litigation, Healthcare, and Governmental Investigations and Special Matters Practices. Scott is the founder and chair of the firm’s Electronic Discovery Practice and also serves as the firm’s Technology Partner.
An experienced litigator, Scott has spent almost the last two decades handling complex business disputes and governmental investigations for companies of every stripe—from small companies to the Fortune 500. Scott, who is quick to tell you that he is an unapologetic nerd, enjoys a well-earned, national reputation as a “go-to” lawyer for electronic discovery issues. He has extensive experience handling every aspect of ediscovery—from counseling clients on information management, to negotiating ediscovery protocols to ensure that discovery proceeds in a proportional and efficient manner, and to overseeing the preservation, collection, and production of information. His clients and colleagues praise his practical, cost-effective guidance on even the most frustrating aspects of e-discovery.
In addition to overseeing the firm’s e-discovery work, Scott maintains an active government investigation and business litigation practice. He has particular experience in handling commercial disputes, insurance coverage matters, and defending healthcare companies involved in False Claims Act and Anti-Kickback Statute investigations.
Scott is a frequent speaker on ediscovery and government investigation issues at continuing legal education seminars and industry events around the country. Scott has also been appointed as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Georgia State University School of Law, where he teaches a class on eDiscovery in Litigation and Government Investigations.
