Mitraphylline

Mitraphylline is a non-narcotic alkaloid found in the leaves of the kratom tree (Mitragyna speciosa) and the bark of the cat's claw plant (Uncaria tomentosa). It's used to treat:

Mitraphylline is an oxindole derivative with the formula C21H24O4N2. It contains a carbomethoxyl group and two chromophores. When hydrolyzed, it produces mitraphyllic acid.

Mitraphylline has been reported to have strong anti-inflammatory activity. It's also been shown to modify the inflammatory response. It has anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting the release of interleukins 1α, 1β, 4, 17, and TNF-α .
