Henry Beneke

Henry Beneke is a pioneer of the eastern Washington region. He came to this part of the northwest in 1878 and has since made it his home. In the early days he did much teaming between Spokane and the Coeur d'Alenes. Later he entered farming and stock raising in the southern part of the country. He early began to invest in land in this and Whitman counties and his holdings became very extensive. He still owns in the neighborhood of 1,000 acres of choice wheat and grazing lands, and also a great deal of livestock.

Becoming unable to keep up the task of managing such extensive interests, he last spring put his farming interests in the hands of a manager and removed to Cheney.

He purchased the Cheney Garage, which he has since entirely overhauled, and has fitted it up to handle all kinds of repair work, not only of automobiles, but all kinds of oxyacetylene welding and other intricate and difficult metal repairs, and carries a full stock of gasoline and automobile accessories. He also maintains an auto livery and is prepared to supply cars for hire.

Mr. Beneke is agent for the Regal and Studebaker lines of cars, and altogether is doing a flourishing business.
