My Woodwork Bench
October 2015:
For my Akaroa Wood Work Shop - Built 2015: The most used piece I have ever made.

On arriving in Akaroa, I made it from my design.
Constructed from the first stick of wood.
It has a hardwood top made from ‘truck decking’ fixed to a plywood substrate. Held on a Pine and plywood base. Really heavy. Will not move on the floor. (Especially with all my tools stored in the bins and shelving underneath.)
The Record 56+1/2 front face vice was brought by me up in Auckland back in about 1972. An ex Mt Eden school woodwork classroom piece. I got two, the other one is still on a bench in the shed at Auckland.
The back tool well plywood bottom panel lifts out to allow for clamping.
The front ‘Deadman’ slides along a runner at the bottom.
