Pergola Sun Vanes

May 2021:

Made these pergola sun vanes to replace a roll out awning that kept getting blown off in the high winds.

Finished with Wattyl fence stain to match the pergola.

The macrocarpa wooden blades have dowels set into their ends that rest on the original purlin rafters. They can be rotated to suit different sun angles during different sessions of the year.

The long slotted members keep the dowels/vanes at their spacing along the purlin...
