C. Dynamic Category

"In my framework for understanding social-ecological systems these are addressed in the "How?" arena. They are more difficult to illustrate because they are dynamic, changing over time. They are each aspects of only one thing--dynamic change. There is always a structure (actors on a map) that contains and allows dynamics (networks), there is always a temporal sequence (process), things always move (change) from place to place within "spaces" (physical and conceptual) and they always do so at some speed which can be changing (rate).

Actors move from place to place in sequences at various speeds.

Which actors are moving from which places to which other places in what sequences at what speeds?"

  1. Flow quantity - Rate
  1. Structural quantity - Network analytics, Property Graph analytics.
  1. Temporal dynamics - Process, Aging
  1. Spatial dynamics - Movement
