Purpose
Process a ballpark table by connecting team-season thoughts to the ballpark thought and league-season thoughts to the table’s internal references, while preserving historical data and compacting the table presentation.
Expected table
The source table normally contains Year, Team, League, record columns, and one source column when available. Preserve the ballpark’s descriptive prose, links, historical values, and established table styling unless this workflow explicitly requires a change.
Naming conventions
Team column
- Display text:
Team - YEAR. - Target thought: preferably
Team - YEAR, LEAGUECODEwhen the team belongs to a rookie or complex league. - Use the existing thought that best matches the historical team-season identity.
League column
- Use the existing exact league-year thought whenever possible.
- Standard name:
League Name YEAR, with no hyphen. - If the source represents a combined or composite league identity, use the existing composite thought exactly; do not split or rename it.
- Replace League cells with generated internal links while preserving display text.
Source column
- Rename a
Statsheader toSourcewhen the cells contain source links. - Preserve the cell link label, such as
Stats, and preserve the external URL.
Table compaction rules
- Remove the
Rostercolumn from the main table; roster links are redundant with the individual team-season thoughts. - Remove the
AttendandAvg.columns from the main table to conserve width. - Preserve their populated values by moving them into a separate table below the main table when attendance data exists.
- The attendance table must use exactly:
|Team Name - Year|Attendance|Average|
- Include only rows with attendance or average data.
- Preserve attendance values exactly; do not infer or invent missing values.
- Do not create an attendance table when all attendance fields are blank.
- Do not include the Roster column in the attendance table.
Chronological ordering
- Sort the main table oldest year first.
- If source rows are newest-first, reverse them.
- Apply the same oldest-first order to the attendance table.
- Do not sort alphabetically or alter historical values.
Procedure
- Read the complete table and descriptive note content.
- Extract each populated row’s year, team, league, record values, attendance values, and source links.
- Resolve each team-season thought; inspect candidates when names are ambiguous and do not guess.
- Ensure every resolved team-season thought is a child of the ballpark thought; preserve all other relationships.
- Resolve each league-year thought and link League cells internally; newly created league-year thoughts are jump-linked to the ballpark, while existing league thoughts are not made ballpark children solely for table appearance.
- Generate every new internal thought link with TheBrain’s URL generator. Never manually construct or guess
brain://URLs. - Rename the source header to
Sourcewhen the source cells are Stats links; preserve cell labels and external URLs. - Remove the Roster, Attend, and Avg. columns from the main table, moving attendance data to the separate attendance table as specified above.
- Preserve all other prose, links, statistics, formatting, and table styling.
- Re-read the updated note and validate links, relationships, ordering, and table structure.
Graph relationships
- Team-season thoughts: children of the ballpark thought.
- Existing league-year thoughts: linked in the table only.
- Newly created league-year thoughts: jump-linked to the ballpark.
- Preserve existing parents, children, jumps, and custom ordering.
