- Purpose: Use this workflow for an MLB–MiLB affiliation by season, represented by an
Affiliation: Team - YEARthought.
- 1. Verify the affiliation thought
- Confirm the thought is named
Affiliation: MLB Team - YEAR. - Set its thought type to the existing
.02 Affiliationtype. Do not create a duplicate type. - Preserve its existing parent relationships, such as a
Teams by Affiliate YEARthought.
- Confirm the thought is named
- 2. Format the affiliation note
- Keep the introductory text, season summary, and organization-leaders URL.
- Convert the affiliate list into a table with four columns and no heading text:
- League/class/level
- Team thought name in the form
TeamName - YEAR - W-L record
- Statistics URL
- Remove the Roster column and its links.
- Add the applicable year to each team name when it is missing.
- 3. Create internal text links
- For every
TeamName - YEARin the table, search for the exact existing thought. - If an exact thought is not found, ask for permission before creating anything.
- If the user supplies an existing thought ID, verify the ID/name and use it; never create a replacement thought without permission.
- Replace each plain team name in the table with an internal
brain://text link to the matching thought.
- For every
- 4. Link the team thoughts in the graph
- Link every matching
TeamName - YEARthought as a child ofAffiliation: MLB Team - YEAR. - Do not create duplicate links; check whether a link already exists first.
- Keep the link direction explicit: the affiliation thought is the parent, and each team-season thought is its child.
- Link every matching
- 5. Attach Statistics URLs
- For each child team-season thought, use the Statistics URL from the table's last column.
- Check existing attachments first.
- Attach the URL only when the matching URL is not already attached; do not duplicate existing attachments.
- Use the URL's descriptive Statistics title when attaching it.
- 6. Final verification
- Confirm all team names in the table are internal links.
- Confirm all team-season thoughts are children of the affiliation thought.
- Confirm each child has its matching Statistics URL attached.
- Report any missing thoughts or URLs and pause for permission where required.
Example
Affiliation: Cleveland Indians - 1953 → child team-season thoughts:
Indianapolis Indians - 1953Reading Indians - 1953Spartanburg Peaches - 1953Fargo-Moorhead Twins - 1953Sherbrooke Indians - 1953Daytona Beach Islanders - 1953Green Bay Bluejays - 1953
Relationship pattern: Affiliation: MLB Team - YEAR parent → TeamName - YEAR child.
Internal brain-link rule (global)
- Preserve existing working internal
brain://links exactly. - Never manually construct, guess, edit, or infer a
brain://URL. - For new internal links, call TheBrain’s thought-link URL generator for the exact thought and copy the returned URL exactly.
- If generation fails, leave the item plain text and report it; do not substitute another format.
