List Attachments
In TheBrain 15, the command or endpoint "List Attachments" (corresponding to API endpoints like
GET/thoughts/{brainId}/{thoughtId}/attachments
or
GET/links/{brainId}/{linkId}/attachments)
is used to query and return an inventory of all files, documents, local paths, or web URLs linked to a specific thought or connection line.
Core Functions & Capabilities
- Enumeration of Assets: It pulls a structured list of everything attached to a target node (such as PDFs, images, spreadsheets, local folders, or external URLs) without needing to open the files or load their binary content.
- API and Scripting Integration: When building local HTTP API scripts or automation workflows in v.15, this tool allows external code or AI agents to inspect a thought's contents programmatically to see what supporting documentation is tied to it.
- Link-Level Attachments: It can also target specific relationships (
/links/{brainId}/{linkId}/attachments), listing attachments that exist natively on a connection line between two thoughts rather than just the thoughts themselves.
Primary Use Cases
- Automated File Management: Scripts can loop through a thought's attachments to check file types, verify local file paths, or back up referenced documents.
- Metadata Auditing: Quickly reviewing what resources are housed under a specific category or record node during large-scale database curation.
