Local API
Summary
The Local API is TheBrain’s built‑in interface for other tools on your machine to talk directly to your brain data. It exposes a local HTTP endpoint plus an access token so scripts, integrations, or extensions can read and write thoughts, links, notes, and attachments.
What It’s For
- Connecting developer tools, custom scripts, or browser extensions to TheBrain.
- Automating repetitive tasks (e.g., bulk updates of thoughts or links).
- Experimenting with programmatic access without exposing your brain over the public internet.
Key Points
- Runs on
http://127.0.0.1:<port>(accessible only from your own machine by default). - Protected by an access token you must keep private.
- Best suited for power users and developers who are comfortable with HTTP and APIs.
