API Recipes and Examples
Purpose
This thought collects practical recipes and examples for using TheBrain’s APIs together with ChatGPT (or other AI services). Keep each recipe short and action‑oriented.
Example Recipes
- Summarize a cluster of research notes
- Use TheBrain API to fetch all children of a topic thought.
- Send their notes to ChatGPT with a prompt like: "Summarize these notes into 5–7 bullet points."
- Create a new child thought called "AI Summary" and write the bullet list into its notes.
- Generate an outline from a messy note
- Fetch a single thought’s long note via the API.
- Ask ChatGPT to convert it into a clean outline with headings and bullets.
- Replace the original note or add a sibling thought "Structured Outline".
- Extract action items
- Take meeting or project notes from TheBrain.
- Ask ChatGPT: "Extract all action items with owners and due dates where possible."
- Create a set of child thoughts, one per action item, under the original meeting thought.
- Tag suggestions
- Fetch a set of related thoughts.
- Ask ChatGPT to propose 3–5 tags that best categorize them.
- Manually review and then apply the chosen tags in TheBrain.
How to Use This Thought
- Add new recipes whenever you discover a helpful pattern.
- Keep each recipe to a few bullet points: Inputs → API calls → AI prompt → Result back into TheBrain.
- Link detailed code examples or projects (Python, Node, etc.) as children of this thought.
