Hans-Ulrich's Professional Profile

Hans-Ulrich has over 15 years of experience in the field of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) research. He joined one of the founding organizations of Sustainalytics in 2001, initially as an analyst and later as a senior analyst. In 2009, he assumed the role of Global Director, Research Products, managing a team of nearly 100 analysts until mid-2016. Since August 2016, Hans-Ulrich has been responsible for product strategy and development.

During his tenure, Hans-Ulrich has played a key role in developing the firm’s global ESG research platform and most of Sustainalytics’ current product line. His current responsibilities include:

• Overseeing Sustainalytics’ product innovation and development
• Managing selected strategic internal and client projects

Hans-Ulrich has extensive market experience and in-depth knowledge of research and data management processes.

Previous Experience

Before joining Sustainalytics, Hans-Ulrich worked for four years at the United Nations in the field of chemicals and waste management. He also spent one year at the European Commission.

Education

Hans-Ulrich studied Economics at Saarland University in Germany and holds a master’s degree in Environmental and Resource Economics from University College London.
