The collage is made with a technique of gluing small pieces of paper from colored magazines to create the image seen. The art is my reflection of thoughts of the suffering of Baha’u’llah, specifically focusing on His acceptance of fiendish cruelty and agonizing sorrows.
Baha’u’llah the Glory of God, the Promised One, the Divine Educator, the Prince of Peace, the Lord of Lords, with all His power, experienced persecution and sufferings, at the hand of His enemies and oppressors. He willingly endured these difficulties for the sake of us. He accepted this so that we can get the message of God, so that we can see the truth.
To represent this I portrayed a melting candle with a burning flame and reflection of the light in darkness.
- (flame) Bright Light symbolizes knowledge and guidance. This represents the teachings of the Faith which lighten up the lost and (unsanctified) human heart which is represented as dark blue and dark purple in the background.
- A melting candle symbolizes acceptance of hardships and offering of life. This represents the countless suffering and agonizing sorrows that was endured for us.
- The reflective waves symbolize continuity, progress and growth. This is to show pondering/reflecting/remembering the sufferings/plight in our hearts.
