6. How scientists can use the ABT

The tools are laid out in those first three chapters. My advice to scientists still rests in the title of the second chapter of my first book: “Don’t Be So Literal Minded.”

If you are a scientist, I recommend you put that thinking to work by reading in detail the first three chapters and realizing that all of those applications of the ABT Framework in the worlds of business, politics and entertainment apply just as much to science. You’re no different at the core.

You write proposals, you give presentations, you write papers, and you make videos. For all those central elements of your entire profession, you need to have a command of narrative. The principles you need for mastering narrative structure have nothing to do with science.

They are universal and they pervade all aspects of humanity, because … narrative is everything.
