Education

Education is listed under both 0. Frugality and 4. Truth because it is such an important use of time.

Education is important to establishing an economically sound household.

But education is also important as an end in itself. It brings joy and interest to life. It enables better (and often unexpected) opportunities based on new knowledge and secondhand experience—received wisdom from widely varying sources, hopefully all grounded in reality.

Spending time on educating oneself is also a way to spend time learning about truth and reason, reality and fact.

When selecting a career, it is important to consider whether you can learn more from the job itself, if possible. Good careers involve ongoing education. This also has the added benefit of keeping you more and more indispensable instead of more and more dispensable.
