Loki: Mercurial, Capricious Deity

Loki

A Mercurial, Capricious God, Who is Not Beneficent Nor Benevolent

Not necessary malevolent, almost neutral, or pretends to be. A trickster god who is trying to appear indistinguishable from the cold hard laws of nature.

Symbolized by the Raven. Shows up unannounced. Causes trouble just for the sake of it. Bound to look like he is bound by the laws of nature, though he is not. (He can play tricks with randomness, use animals or unknown invisible but plausible causes to do things like at the Devil's Racetrack, etc.)

cf. Peeves, the Hogwarts poltergeist: not considered a ghost, but an "indestructible spirit of chaos" according to Rowling. (Magical creatures in Harry Potter)

Need some good stories to illustrate this. (Devil's Racetrack.)
