Updike's Law

Every so-called capital G God is actually a lower-case g god.

Unless someone believes in Apophatic Theology, theists will try to act like they have access to the right ideas about some ultimate God, but in reality they keep revealing that they keep worshiping a Weak-Ass god, a man-made god.

It sounds harsh, but these outlandish claims keep being shown up in obvious and disappointing ways.

Some people claim to worship a A Good God of Limited Abilities and that is one case that does not fall afoul of Updike's Law.
