Biography

Milton was born in 1909 in Akron in Summit County, Ohio, the son of Joseph J. Hershey and Gizella Stern, recent immigrants from Hungary. He grew up in Akron where his father worked in banking and real estate. Milton moved to the Detroit area and worked in advertising. At age 22 in 1931, he married Virginia Mary Rane in Northfield in nearby Washtenaw County, Michigan. She joined Milton in Detroit where they had x children together. The family lived for many years in Farmington Hills and Southfield in the Detroit area. Virginia died in Southfield in 1985. Milton remarried the following year in 1986 to Barbara ??. They retired to Florida and in Ocala in Marion County, FL in 1993.
