Ephesians 2

2 Also you //God’s holy people in Ephesus, the faithful in Christ Jesus//--

being dead

in the trespasses

and the sins,

in which once ye did walk

according to the age

of this world,

according to the ruler

of the authority of the air,

of the spirit

that is now working

in the sons of disobedience,

among whom //the ruler// also we all did walk once

in the desires of our flesh,

doing the wishes of the flesh and of the thoughts,

and were by nature children of wrath --

as also the others,

and God,

being rich in kindness,

because of His great love

with which He loved us,

even being dead in the trespasses,

did make us

to live together

with the Christ,

(by grace ye are having been saved,)

and did raise [us] up together,

and did seat [us] together in the heavenly [places]

in Christ Jesus,

that He might show,

in the ages that are coming,

the exceeding riches of His grace

in kindness toward us

in Christ Jesus,

for by grace ye are having been saved, through faith, and this not of you -- of God the gift,

^9 ^not of works, that no one may boast;

^10 ^for of Him we are workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to good works, which God did before prepare, that in them we may walk.

^11 ^Wherefore, remember, that ye [were] once the nations in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that called Circumcision in the flesh made by hands,

^12 ^that ye were at that time apart from Christ, having been alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of the promise, having no hope, and without God, in the world;

^13 ^and now, in Christ Jesus, ye being once afar off became nigh in the blood of the Christ,

^14 ^for he is our peace, who did make both one, and the middle wall of the enclosure did break down, //Pentecost//

At Jesus’s resurrection the veil split in two - the wall broke down
Exodus 20 Not church, saints and members is referring to Israel. V 12 excluded from citizenship with Israel. Foreigner to the convents (plural). V14 Jesus broke down the dividing wall that kept gentiles in the outer courts.

^15 ^the enmity in his flesh, the law //chok// of the commands //mishpat// in ordinances having done away, that the two he might create in himself into one new man, making peace,

15having abolished in His flesh the enmitySee Col. 2:14; Col. 2:20; Acts 11:1-3 – the torah of the commands in dogma – so as to create in Himself one renewed man from the two, thus making peace,

^16 ^and might reconcile both in one body to God through the cross, having slain the enmity in it,

^17 ^and having come, he did proclaim good news -- peace to you -- the far-off and the nigh,

^18 ^because through him we have the access -- we both -- in one Spirit unto the Father.

^19 ^Then, therefore, ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow-citizens of the saints, and of the household of God,

^20 ^being built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being chief corner-[stone],

^21 ^in whom all the building fitly framed together doth increase to an holy sanctuary in the Lord,

^22 ^in whom also ye are builded together, for a habitation of God in the Spirit.

Interesting ... 49 The same law applies both to the native-born and to the foreigner residing among you.”:

Jew and Gentile Reconciled Through Christ

11 Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (which is done in the body by human hands)— 12 remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. //Jews// and //Circumcision Party//

14 For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, 15 by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, 16 and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. 17 He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. 18 For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.

19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit. ...

... 24 “Obey these instructions as a lasting ordinance for you and your descendants. 25 When you enter the land that the Lord will give you as he promised, observe this ceremony. 26 And when your children ask you, ‘What does this ceremony mean to you?’ 27 then tell them, ‘It is the Passover sacrifice to the Lord, who passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt and spared our homes when he struck down the Egyptians.’”

42 Because the Lord kept vigil that night to bring them out of Egypt, on this night all the Israelites are to keep vigil to honor the Lord for the generations to come.

43 The Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “These are the regulations for the Passover meal:

“No foreigner may eat it. 44 Any slave you have bought may eat it after you have circumcised him, 45 but a temporary resident or a hired worker may not eat it.

47 The whole community of Israel must celebrate it. 48 “A foreigner residing among you who wants to celebrate the Lord’s Passover must have all the males in his household circumcised; then he may take part like one born in the land. No uncircumcised male may eat it.

49 The same law applies both to the native-born and to the foreigner residing among you.”

Ephesians 2:2 speaks of “the prince of the power of the air” (ESV), another verse associated with Satan—and which, upon closer examination, does not include any reference to the name or the devil.
