He could have … but He didn’t

Luke 22:40-43 Jesus, nearing the start of His ultimate sacrifice of His life and His eternally unbroken relationship with the Father, suffered the worst stress, temptation, and fear anyone ever has or ever will experience. Being God and possessing all His eternal divine attributes including asceity (self-sufficiency) and omnipotence, He could have comforted and strengthened Himself. He could have eased all His own trepidation and weakness... but He didn’t. Instead He let Himself be in a state of need, so much so that something He Himself had created, an angel, had to come to Him to strengthen Him.
