God eventually removed all artifacts He had ordained
By the time God incarnated Himself on earth in Jesus, the Christ, He had arranged the elimination of every artifact or “special place” He had previously established: except Jerusalem, the Temple, and its furnishings:
- The Garden of Eden
- Noah’s Ark
- Moses’ staff
- Aaron’s rod
- Jar of manna
- Tablets of the Ten Commandments
- Ark of the Covenant
- Tabernacle
- Moses’ bronze serpent (2 Ki 18.4)
- Twelve stones from the Jordan River (there is no mention of them being visited or worshipped)
At Jesus’ death God removed the Temple veil, exposing the Holy of Holies to the world and reducing the Temple to just a building, to be destroyed soon after in 70AD.
