19 Ps 78.45 The frogs “destroyed” them

In this verse the Hebrew word the ESV translates “destroyed” also means to spoil, ruin, corrupt. The frogs, covering everything with their slime and secretions and the corruption of their decaying dead bodies ruined everything, their food, clothing and other textiles, even the hard surfaces of the floor of the Egyptians’ houses.

45He sent among them swarms of flies, which devoured them, and frogs, which destroyed them.
