H7965:shalom:peace

TDNT re shalom: Its basic sense is not the narrower one of “peace” but the wider one of “well-being.” It may be used for the good fortune of the wicked, for health, and for national prosperity, which implies stability. While there is a material content to Shalom, it is always a religious term inasmuch as all blessings are seen to come from God. The peace that God gives is all-sufficient. It carries with it solid blessings, e.g. peace from enemies and wild beasts. (Lev 26.6), particularly referring to the special sense of the peace and blessings resulting from occupation of the Promised Land.
