The Scriptures, the canonized writings we call the Bible, are truthful (Psalm 18:30, Proverbs 30:5, John 17:17), cannot lie (Numbers 23:19, 1 Samuel 15:29, Titus 1:2, Hebrews 6:18), and are trustworthy (Psalm 93:5, 111:7). The Scriptures are the complete manifestation of God in the flesh (John 1:1, 1:14--), and are fully inspired by God and profitable (2 Timothy 3:16-17). The Scriptures provide everything needed for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3-4) in that they point to Jesus, the only way to God (John 5:39, Acts 10:43, 1 John 5:9-12) and provide guidance (Deuteronomy 4:5-6, 29:29, 30:11-14; Joshua 1:8; Psalm 19:9, 119:11, 119:105; 1 John 1:7). The Scriptures are powerful/impactful in that they are the agent of creation (Genesis 1:1-31, Psalm 33:6, Hebrews 11:3); revive the soul creating wisdom, joy, and enlightenment (Psalm 19:7-8); are the agent of healing and deliverance (Psalm 107:20); sustain spiritual life (Matthew 4:4); express God’s power for salvation from sin’s condemnation (Romans 1:16, 2 Timothy 3:15, James 1:21); are living and active, able to discern/expose the thoughts and intentions of the heart (Hebrews 4:12); are God’s agent accomplishing “regeneration”, giving a spiritually-dead person another birth unto spiritual life (1 Peter 1:23); cleanse the Church (Ephesians 5:26); and prevail over opposition (Acts 19:20). The Scriptures act swiftly throughout the earth (Psalm 147:15), are the source of saving faith (Romans 10:17), and provide spiritual illumination/understanding for salvation (Acts 26.18). The Scriptures are durable in that they last forever (Psalm 119:89), are in effect forever (Psalms 119:152, Isaiah 40:8), never pass away and outlast heaven and earth (Matthew 24:35). The Scriptures are immutable, unchanging, and unchangeable (Numbers 23:19, James 1:17).
