Sermon Idea: Just Do It
24Oct2025
Concept: When you’re sure of the Lord’s leading but can’t seem to understand the rationale behind it, just do it.
- God led the Israelites departing Egypt to first meander apparently aimlessly and futilely West of the Red Sea, and then to end up against that apparently impassable obstacle. His leading was clear and unambiguous, and difficult for the Israelites to understand or appreciate.
- After the fact of their obedience they saw His plan, to annihilate the Egyptian armed forces for at least two beneficial outcomes:
- To remove any possibility of Egyptian pursuit or harassment.
- To reduce the willingness and courage of future enemies to oppose Israel.
- After the fact of their obedience they saw His plan, to annihilate the Egyptian armed forces for at least two beneficial outcomes:
- God told Naaman to immerse himself seven times in the Jordan River to be healed of his leprosy.
- He did not understand or appreciate the rationale for this approach.
- After the fact he was cleansed and gave God glory.
