Church

The "Church" in the context of New Testament revelation:

• Founded and built on the assertion that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. Mt 16.18
• Comprised of people set apart, e.g. "sanctified" and thus "holy", in Jesus Christ. 1 Cor 1.2a.
• Comprised of people who relate to and believe in Jesus as Savior and Lord. 1 Cor 1.2b
• Called the "body of Christ". Eph 1.22-23
• Called the "bride of Christ". 2 Cor 11.2, eph 5.25-32, Rv 19.7-9
