God will employ it; Phil 4.7

To guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus; Phil 4.7.

The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. An example of this is Psalms 13. The first four verses contain David's sad prayer of "how long?" to the Lord. This was probably during the years David was on the run from King Saul, a fugitive in his own country, hunted by Israelite officials and forces; and sometimes also hunted by the Philistines. He asked of God, "how long must this go on?" He was weary and depressed and his situation was most difficult with no apparent way out. Then in verses 5-6 the "tone" of his prayer changed to hope and optimism. Notice that at this point nothing of David's circumstances changed; only that as he clung to God, God encouraged and comforted him. This is the great message of Phil 4.7: God can and will care for His children, including their mental and emotional needs, regardless of and despite their circumstances.
