Where did the Flood waters go?

Answer: before the Noahic Flood the earth's surface was fairly flat so the quantity of water from subterranean and atmospheric sources was sufficient to cover its highest places to a depth of at least 20 feet. At the end of the Flood, to again expose the dry land, God shifted the earth's crust causing the mountains to gain in elevation (creating the earth's great mountain ranges such as the Himalayas and Andes) and causing the spaces in between to sink down creating the great ocean basins where the water could and did collect. See the child thought connected below this thought for more details and references to Bible passages documenting these changes.
