God controls every event

John Piper, in his book: Desiring God, "God's sovereignty over mens' affairs is not compromised even by the reality of sin and evil in the world."

Piper supports this wonderful assertion with a rich review of the Bible's descriptions of God accomplishing all His purposes not only through good and pleasant things, but also through all the wicked intents and actions of men. It sure is encouraging to be reminded every day, sometimes needing the reminder every hour, that the Lord is sovereignly, calmly even, administering His victorious, righteous, glorious plan.
