01 Gen 27.36 Esau self-deceived

Genesis 27:36 (ESV)

36Esau said, “Is he not rightly named Jacob? For he has cheated me these two times. He took away my birthright, and behold, now he has taken away my blessing.” Then he said, “Have you not reserved a blessing for me?”

The boldfaced portion of verse 36 is factually incorrect. Gen 25.29-34 records that Esau sold his birthright for a bowl of soup. Jacob did not take it from him.
