H5221 Nakah Kill

Kill, attack, beat, conquer, defeat, slay. Could mean intentionally or unintentionally depending on the context. For example, Num 35.11 uses the word for an unintentional, accidental killing of a person; e.g. manslaughter. Num 35.16 uses the word for intentional killing of a person; e.g. murder.
The person who commits manslaughter may use a city of refuge to escape an avenger and obtain a trial and a fair hearing. The person who commits murder has no such refuge, but has forfeited his life.
