Far more prominent in the bill, and in the Bush energy strategy as a whole, are big subsidies for the nuclear-power industry and a big push to drill for oil and gas on public lands and in offshore waters. Think about how devastating of a critique that is: If we got everything we wanted right now, we would still be hurtling toward global-warming crisis. We would still be destroying the Amazon, the lungs of the planet. This included funds “to build new transit and high speed rail lines, weatherize homes, develop next generation batteries for clean vehicles, scale up wind and solar power, build a modern electric grid, and train a new generation of green-collar workers.” As the Capital Research Center notes, Bracken Hendricks’ 2007 book Apollo’s Fire “included electric vehicle tax credits, an alternative refueling property tax credit, a residential energy-efficient property tax credit, funding for advanced lighting research, and large subsidies for power transmission lines for renewable electric sources” – all of which were contained in the 2009 stimulus bill. Moreover, the stimulus included provisions to funnel federal money to left-wing community-organizing groups and social-justice organizations that were active members of AA. It has been endorsed by the AFL-CIO and 23 international labor unions as well as a majority of national environmental organizations. Eight years later, Apollo 11 commander Neil Armstrong set foot on the lunar surface – proof we can succeed when we apply our expertise, innovation and can-do spirit to a single national endeavor.

Now America has an Apollo Project for the 21st century. Our challenge is to achieve energy independence in one generation. This new Apollo Project, a ten-point plan for energy independence, will bring our country together to rethink and reshape our energy future, to create a stronger economy, a safer world and cleaner environment. The plan calls for diversifying our energy sources, making America less dependent on imported oil and making energy less polluting. It will invest in new technology and expand markets for American durable goods. The Apollo Alliance is a very powerful coalition of unions like the SEIU, along with “Social Justice” groups like ACORN and it’s myriad of underlings…(the largest radical group in America, with more than 400,000 dues-paying member families , and more than 1,200 chapters in 110 U.S. cities.)

The Alliance is united by their collective belief that America is a chief source of worldwide “environmental disruption, rising social inequity, and … fundamentalist anger.” Apollo Alliance’s endorsing organizations and partners include Greenpeace, the League of Conservation Voters, the Natural Resources Defense Council, the National Wildlife Federation, the Rainforest Action Network, the Sierra Club, the Union of Concerned Scientists, and, of course, ACORN. Apollo Alliance’s National Steering Committee and National Advisory Board members include, among others, Robert Borosage, Carl Pope of the Sierra Club, Julian Bond of the NAACP, Gerry Hudson of the Service Employees International Union, and U.S. Representative Jesse Jackson Jr. Apollo Alliance has also received strong support from the socialist Senator from Vermont, Bernie Sanders, and from Hillary Rodham Clinton.

The Alliance has boasted of writing both the stimulus bill AND Cap and Trade. And it is driving the Obama Reich’s agenda with unbelievable force.

The Apollo Alliance is a creation of the lefty “Tides Foundation”, is railroading the “green agenda”, and releases no financial data. It’s exerting HUGE influence on the bills and policies coming from Washington that are destroying America. At the helm is Van Jones, a proud Communist who is Obama’s “Green Czar” and heads the “Green Initiative.” Apollo Alliance Board Chair Phil Angelides, former Treasurer of the State of California (!) was appointed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to serve as the Chair of the newly created Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission. Center for American Progress president John Podesta is also a major participant in the Alliance.

The map above shows the Alliance’s key players and connections. Note Al Gore’sname…he’ll make off like a bandit under Cap and Trade; Carol Browner— Obama’s Environmental Czar, and International Socialist… who also belongs to the “Sustainable World Society”, and Robert Borosage a HUGE liberal-Progressive operator.
