Serve as surrogate for Governor in his absence; represent Governor to ensure execution of the administration’s strategic plan. Manage recruitment process for executive branch appointments; review and approve senior level personnel appointments.

• Led Governor’s Innovation to Jobs initiative to enhance university research for commercialization opportunities; established a $120M venture fund and an additional $10M from other sources

• Advised the Governor on development of extremely successful economic strategy that significantly reduced unemployment, eliminated more than $2B in federal debt, and created an environment that created 200K private sector jobs
