RAW
August 31, 2026
Our military has never seemed weaker on the global stage thanks to Cadet Bones Spurs' regime carrying out Project 2025’s planned changes to the U.S. military.
Aside from renaming the Defense Department to the Department of War during peacetime, the other shredding of our esteemed military being carried out right in front of us includes everything the Heritage Foundation wanted: ending diversity programs, reversing reproductive care travel policies, and reviewing high-ranking officer promotions for political alignment.
Then there’s renaming warships after terrible people, stranding the USS Abraham Lincoln, and manufacturing a war in Iran to distract from the Epstein Files, because the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East just weren’t enough.
Trump has a long history of openly disrespecting our armed forces, because that’s what weak, thin-skinned, jealous bullies do when they come face-to-face with their opposites. He takes no responsibility for the egregious body counts — both foreign and domestic — attributed to his two administrations. A weakened American military makes our country vulnerable to attacks from our enemies, which is exactly what Putin wants. It pairs nicely with the visuals of the vandalism in D.C. perpetrated by only one person; Putin’s puppet himself delivered the weakest version of our country as a 250th birthday present for Daddy Vladdy.
But there’s really no better example of how much Trump hates the military than his installation of former Fox News Talking Head and fellow thrice-married serial philanderer “Punch-Drunk” Pete Hegseth as the “Secretary of War.” Bringing his brash Broski braggadouchery to the MAGA base, “Kegseth” — a nickname he’s rightfully earned thanks to his multiple drunken public appearances — served in the National Guard from 2002 to 2021 and has now turned the Pentagon into a frat house with its own Green Room where he can get his makeup done before doing the world’s worst photo ops.
Together, Trump and Kegseth went scorched earth on the Pentagon and purged anyone who wasn’t going to choose loyalty to Trump over America. Under the guise of getting rid of anyone who was pro-DEI initiatives, they fired high-ranking military leaders from the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Senior Service Officers, and also blocked the promotion of at least 45 officers.
During his controversial tenure, Hegseth has been focused on strutting around and putting on pretend shows of strength. Colin Jost’s impression of Hegseth on SNL is so spot-on, it’s scary while also being funny/not funny.
Aside from making a mockery of our military on the global stage, Hegseth has been obeying orders by pulling a Bari Weiss and firing three employees of the venerable military publication Stars and Stripes after they reported — accurately — about the abhorrent conditions aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln.
Kind of like how the White House posted a “Leftist Influencers” List on its website to target three independent political content creators after they reported — accurately — on Trump’s health amid multiple “annual” visits to Walter Reed within the same calendar year.
Or how Trump constantly bullies the press instead of ever answering their questions.
It’s just weird how they keep trying to punish people who are just doing their jobs.
Anyway, Stars and Stripes (S&S) — which still has a print edition! — has reported on the United States Armed Forces and their communities since the Civil War era.
While it operates from within the Department of Defense War, it’s independent and editorially separate from it, and its First Amendment rights to report on military actions and other issues relevant to our military has been guaranteed by Congress.
Of course, none of that matters to Punch-Drunk Pete and the Epstein Bestie who keeps taking naps on camera while behind the Resolute Desk. While they’ve made it abundantly clear that they couldn’t care less about the conditions our servicepeople must live under, they care very much about the optics of a disaster like the one aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln.
Rather than apologizing and taking responsibility or, I don’t know, properly taking care of every member of our armed forces with dignity and respect so that they wouldn’t be considering suicide, Kegseth and Trump are just worried about their bad actions making them look bad.
So Hegseth, who can’t do a pull-up and has dumbed down every press conference from the Pentagon, ordered Editor-in-Chief Erik Slavin to fire journalist Lara Korte. When Slavin refused, Hegseth fired them, as well as publisher Max D. Lederer Jr., for “insubordination.” All three are now on “administrative leave” awaiting a court ruling after they filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against Hegseth, Chief Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell, DOD public affairs official Andrew Brey, and the DOD itself.
I guess Trump and Kegseth have to decide if it makes them look worse to admit the truth, or to fire the people who report the truth they don’t want to admit to. They are both threats to national and international security. The least qualified person to ever oversee our military is one boozy brunch away from accidentally launching a nuke over a perceived slight.
All of this makes my brain cry, because I’m so tired of the stupidest people carrying out the most obvious yet also stupidest plot to destroy our democracy from within. Stars and Stripes has been around since THE CIVIL WAR ERA and the drunk guy from Fox News and the handsy host of The Apprentice shouldn’t be anywhere near it.
I can’t stress that enough, because now we’re hearing that Hegseth is “seriously considering” a presidential run in 2028, which is just too stupid to think about. Although, I can’t say I wouldn’t enjoy watching Sen. Jon “Hotticus Finch” Ossoff shred Punch-Drunk Pete in a debate.
I’ve had a lifelong respect for our military, and I can only hope that once Democrats flip Congress, they’ll be investigating Hegseth and his staff for war crimes as part of their campaign of accountability for the Trump regime.

David Pakman, Ed Krassenstein, and Brian Tyler Cohen are all on the WHITE HOUSE WEBSITE, each of them being made out to be enemies of the State. They’re all essentially being doxxed by Donald Trump, all for daring to always tell the truth about him.
A quick word about Ed Krassenstein and his brother, Brian. They’ve had a bad rep for being opportunistic grifters for as long as I can remember. They claim to be Democrats, but have tweeted support for Trump in the past, and have even justified buying a Cybertruck. These aren’t all of the things about them, but this is my way of saying that they are not universally beloved by liberals, and that would include me.... RAW

JD Vance is under fire after encouraging Department of Government Efficiency head Elon Musk to re-hire the 25-year old whose racist posts led to his reported resignation.
The Wall Street Journal broke the story that a “key DOGE staff member who gained access to the Treasury Department’s central-payments system resigned Thursday after he was linked to a deleted social-media account that advocated racism and eugenics.”
“Marko Elez, a 25-year-old who is part of a cadre of Elon Musk lieutenants deployed by the Department of Government Efficiency to scrutinize federal spending, resigned after The Wall Street Journal asked the White House about his connection to the account,” the Journal reported.
According to The Journal, that account posted, “Just for the record, I was racist before it was cool,” and, “You could not pay me to marry outside of my ethnicity.”

“Normalize Indian hate,” was another post, according to the Journal, which noted that it was “in reference to a post noting the prevalence of people from India in Silicon Valley.”
“The user appeared to have a special dislike for Indian software engineers,” the WSJ added.
That account also posted, according to the Journal, “I would not mind at all if Gaza and Israel were both wiped off the face of the Earth.”
U.S. Rep. Shri Thanedar (D-MI) added, “Elon Musk thinks racism is OK, as long as Twitter says so. This man should not be anywhere near our government.”
Journalist Jay Bookman, a columnist for the Georgia Recorder, also weighed in. He wrote, “I wonder what made the kid think racism had suddenly become cool. Who was he hanging out with that would make him think such a curious thing? Elon, do you know?”

Friday morning, Musk asked his 216 million followers on his social media site X, “Bring back @DOGE staffer who made inappropriate statements via a now deleted pseudonym?”
As of this writing, 78% said “Yes.”
The Vice President, a Republican from Ohio, responded to Musk.
“Here’s my view,” Vance, unprompted, wrote. “I obviously disagree with some of Elez’s posts, but I don’t think stupid social media activity should ruin a kid’s life. We shouldn’t reward journalists who try to destroy people. Ever. So I say bring him back. If he’s a bad dude or a terrible member of the team, fire him for that.”
Critics were quick to chastise the Vice President.
“Then bring him back! You’re the big tough guy with all the power now, right? (or at least you work with those two guys),” scolded former Obama speechwriter Jon Favreau. “You don’t get to play the victim anymore and hide behind the mean journalists and the cancel culture libs. You’re in charge now. If you want to hire back the guy who says he’s ‘racist’ and couldn’t be paid to marry outside of his ethnicity – who said he wants to ‘normalize Indian hate’ – do it! Not sure I could look my family in the eye if I did something like that, but maybe you can. So live your truth, pal. Bring back the racist.”
Some were quick to remind Vance that his wife, who has faced attacks from white supremacists, is of Indian heritage.
Technology executive Anil Dash commented, “This is about the CRIME of giving this man access to the treasury — everyone already knows you don’t care about having your wife and children humiliated by your fellow MAGA racists. He’s not a child, and no one appointed him or the other known security threats at DOGE.”
Political commentator Brian Tyler Cohen added, “The husband of an Indian-American wife and the father of 3 Indian-American kids wants to bring back the staffer who posted “normalize Indian hate.”
Others rejected the idea that a 25-year old is just a “kid,” especially since those posts reportedly were made last year.
“He’s either a kid who is too young and stupid to be held accountable for his actions. Or he’s an adult with a taxpayer-funded job that includes having access to American’s most sensitive information, which demands a high standards and accountability. Can’t have it both ways,” noted The Bulwark’s Sarah Longwell.
“So he’s a racist kid with no impulse control, but he should have access to the system that doles out trillions of dollars of the federal budget and see all of our personal information,” observed Daily KOS’s Emily C. Singer.
Others pushed back against Vance’s attack on the media, making clear that America has a right to know.
“Setting aside everything else (i.e. ‘kid’), it would seem to be in the public interest to understand whether someone with such a consequential job is a secret racist,” wrote The Washington Post’s Aaron Blake. “That’s what reporting is. People can react how they will. He’s not only in the arena; he’s a central player.”
“I get that there’s no shame and decency left,” economics writer Joey Politano said, “you can self ID as a racist eugenicist and still have insanely important roles in this admin, but the most insulting thing here is treating a 25 year old like a uwu smol bean child who can’t be held responsible for his actions.”
“A 25-year-old is not a kid. He made blatant and disgusting racist posts in the last few months,” commented veteran Jared Ryan Sears, who writes The Pragmatic Humanist. Quoting what someone said is not ‘ruining their life’ it is reporting. It is shameful to defend such a terrible person while demonizing a journalist for reporting about him.”
Former White House correspondent Sam Youngman offered a big picture view: “Too weak to stand up for his own family. Think he’ll stand up for yours?”
