Documents obtained by Progress Missouri indicate that the Republican leaders in Jefferson City are working directly with national, extreme front groups to silence Missouri workers and increase corporate power. Leaders from the the&nbsp;<strong style=" margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; outline: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; background-color: transparent;">National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation</strong>,&nbsp;<strong style=" margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; outline: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; background-color: transparent;">Western Michigan Policy Forum</strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong style=" margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; outline: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; background-color: transparent;">National Tax Limitation Committee&nbsp;</strong>are scheduled to speak at tonight’s strategy session at&nbsp;<strong style=" margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; outline: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; background-color: transparent;">8pm in Hearing Room 3</strong>, per House leadership communications.</p>

<p>

Further demonstrating the involvement of extreme corporate front groups, the so-called “right to work” legislation introduced by<strong style=" margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; outline: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; background-color: transparent;">&nbsp;Rep. Eric Burlison</strong>&nbsp;and co-sponsored by<strong style=" margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; outline: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; background-color: transparent;">&nbsp;Speaker Tim Jones</strong>&nbsp;comes&nbsp;<a href="http://www.progressmissouri.org/house-leaderships-anti-worker-proposal-comes-straight-alec-corporate-bill-mill" style=" margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; background-color: transparent; color: rgb(1, 71, 131); outline: none;">directly from the<strong style=" margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; outline: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; background-color: transparent;">&nbsp;American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC)</strong></a>, a Progress Missouri analysis has shown.</p>

<p>

“Our legislators need to be listening to Missourians and solving Missouri problems, not following the orders of extreme billionaires and their secretive front groups,” said Sean Soendker Nicholson, Executive Director of Progress Missouri. “These bills are all about limiting the political voices of workers and the middle class on behalf of CEOs and corporations.”

The recent Wisconsin election highlighted yet another node in the Koch brothers’ influence network.

Among the biggest contributors to Gov. Scott Walker’s successful effort to defeat a recall were Sarah Humphreys Atkins and her brother, David Humphreys. Together, they gave $510,000 to the Walker campaign.</p>

heir mother is Ethelmae Humphreys, chair of Tamko Building Products. David Humphreys serves as president and CEO of the Joplin, MO, company.

<b>While their donations in Wisconsin</b> were unusually high, political contributions are nothing new for the Humphreys. At the national level, family members have contributed more than $740,000 over the last decade.</p>

<p>

As matriarch, Ethelmae Humphreys heads two family grantmakers - the J.P. Humphreys Foundation and the E.L. Craig Foundation, which support many of the conservative organizations receiving Koch money.</p>

<p>

Mutual beneficiaries of the Koch and Humphreys clans include Mercatus Center, Americans for Prosperity, Acton Institute and the Cato Institute.

<b><span style=" color: #ED1C24;">Ethelmae Humphreys is a director of Cato,</span></b> which, until recent years, was a recipient of Koch largesse. (It’s now the target of two Koch lawsuits.)

Her son is a <b>director of the Institute for Humane Studies, a libertarian organization chaired by Charles G. Koch. Richard Fink, Koch’s right-hand man, is also a member of the institute board.</b></p>
