Qualifying – Formatting & Cleanup Instructions
Use these steps whenever you import raw Club Speed data for a Qualifying heat into a thought of Type Qualifying.
1. Paste raw data into the Qualifying thought
- Open the Club Speed Heat Details page for the qualifying session.
- Copy all text (headers, winner, classification, lap times, etc.).
- Paste everything into the notes of the Qualifying thought.
2. Build the Session section
- At the top of the note, create:
### Session
- Heat Type: ...
- Date: ...
- Format: ...
- From the raw text, fill in:
- Heat Type: e.g.
MNL Qualifying - 1Lap(F). - Date: e.g.
1/5/2026 7:20 PM. - Format: for hot-lap qualifying, use:
1 flying lap per driver (hot lap qualifying)
- Heat Type: e.g.
- Delete extra raw lines that are not needed in the summary (for qualifying):
Win By,Winner, etc. (the winner will be obvious from the grid).
3. Build the Grid table
- Under the
Sessionsection, add:
### Grid
| Pos | Racer | Lap Time | Interval | Gap | ProSkill | +/- |
- Column definitions:
- Pos – final qualifying position.
- Racer – driver name (remove
- P). - Lap Time – best lap from Club Speed.
- Interval – time difference to the car immediately ahead.
- Gap – time difference to the leader (P1).
- ProSkill – ProSkill SCORE.
- +/- –
This Round +/-from Club Speed (or—if not provided).
4. Fill the Grid from the raw classification
- In the raw block, find the main classification that contains:
- Position, Racer, Best Lap, Gap from Leader, ProSkill, This Round +/-.
- For each driver:
- Pos: copy the position number (1, 2, 3, ...).
- Racer: copy the name, then remove trailing
- Por- N(e.g.A. Kennedy - P→A. Kennedy,B. Driver - N→B. Driver). - Lap Time: use
Best Lap. - Gap: use
Gap from Leader(vs. P1). For P1 this is-. - ProSkill: use
ProSkill SCORE. - +/-: use
This Round +/-where present; otherwise set—.
Example row layout:
| 1 | A. Kennedy | 39.321 | - | - | 8618 | +34 |
| 2 | A. Schopler | 39.332 | 0.011 | 0.011 | 7610 | +42 |
5. Compute the Interval column
Interval= difference in lap time to the car directly ahead (not to P1).
Steps:
- For P1, set
Interval = -(no car ahead). - For each driver from P2 downward:
- Interval =
LapTime(current) − LapTime(driver ahead).
- Interval =
Example using real numbers:
- P1: 39.321 →
Interval = -. - P2: 39.332 →
Interval = 39.332 − 39.321 = 0.011. - P3: 39.364 →
Interval = 39.364 − 39.332 = 0.032. - Continue down the field.
Gap remains the time to the leader, as provided by Club Speed.
6. Simplify and clean up
- Drop redundant columns:
- Remove the
Lapscolumn from the table when everyone has the same number of laps (for hot-lap quali it is 1 for all drivers).
- Remove the
- Remove extra sections for Qualifying:
- Delete the long
Lap Times by Racerblock because each driver has only one flying lap and it’s already inLap Time. - Once the grid is verified, delete the remaining raw import text.
- Delete the long
7. Final expected layout for a Qualifying thought
After cleanup, a typical Qualifying thought should look like this:
### Session
- Heat Type: MNL Qualifying - 1Lap(F)
- Date: 1/5/2026 7:20 PM
- Format: 1 flying lap per driver (hot lap qualifying)
